2025 4th of July Pie Contest
We’ve made some changes to the pie contest this year we think will enhance the experience for all and that we are excited about implementing. Read on to see what they are and to begin brainstorming your pie entry! We can’t wait to see (or rather, taste!) what you come up with.
WHEN:
This year we will be accepting AND judging submissions on July 3rd, 2025, from 5-6 P.M.
WHERE:
Drop off your pies at the Saxtons River Inn at 27 Main Street!
PIE SUBMISSIONS:
Please include the following:
Description of pie
Name and contact information
Does the pie have an interesting story/inspiration? Family recipe? We want to know!
JUDGING:
This year, judges (to be announced) will be evaluating your pies for their:
Crust
Filling
Creativity
Presentation
Pies will be graded on a scale of 1-10 for each of the categories above with the exception of CREATIVITY, which will be graded on a scale of 1-15. We want to encourage bakers to think outside of the box and create a pie we’ve never seen before!
Pies stored overnight at the Inn, sliced and sold during and after the parade.
PRIZES:
Best Sweet
Best Savory
Young Baker Award (best pie from a baker under 18 years old)
Judging will take place on the evening of the 3rd and winners will be notified via email/text the night of the 3rd. The winner will be announced to the public the following morning at the parade!
